But it was her performance as the wife of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything' which earned her an Oscar nomination for the very first time. Jones was widely praised for her performance as Hawking's first wife. It was based on the life story of Stephen Hawking. She was then seen in Inferno an action film starring Tom Hanks. Inferno was a thriller starring Tom Hanks. British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles gave Jones with the British Artist of the Year in 2016 for her remarkable ability and contribution to film.
